The World’s First Synthetic Human Robot, ProtoClone Unveiled

First Synthetic Human Robot

A Polish startup, Clone Robotics, has just unveiled the world’s first anatomically accurate humanoid robot—Protoclone, having artificial bones, muscles, joints, everything for lifelike movements. It is a breakthrough advancement in robotics technology. This anatomically accurate synthetic human is more than any previous humanoid robot.

The company has shared a terrifying new clip of Protoclone with a faceless, anatomically accurate synthetic human.

This human-like robot has a body shape more akin to a human that its rivals and stands 6 feet tall. Protoclone has been designed to mimic natural human movement. The skin of the robot is translucent, revealing its intricate synthetic muscles and joints, designed to simulate realistic human anatomy.  Apart from the lack of a face, this prototype is anatomically accurate with over 200 degrees of freedom, which means 200 possible movements. Further, it includes 1000 different artificial muscle fibers and 500 sensors, providing the best insight about its surroundings.

The prototype is powered by pneumatics but as per the company, it is planning to switch to a hydraulics system, using pistons and fluid. The protocols include a 500-watt electric pump circulating water akin to a human heart pumping blood.

These pneumatics are very loud and can exceed 86 decibels, whereas Clone’s water pump runs at 36 decibels without any acoustic insulation.

From the outside, this robot seems like a fit, athletic human, with robust-looking pecs, biceps, and quadriceps around the thighs.

The company made several claims about the capabilities of Protoclone but it is not yet able to walk unaided like its competitors, like Tesla’s Optimus or Boston Dynamics’ Atlas. However, Clone Robotics aims to build robots capable of tough tasks such as doing laundry, pouring drinks, and vacuuming floors. One of the key executives of Clone Robotis said that you can stab it with a fork and it will bleed out.

Clone Robotics was founded in Wroclaew in 2021 to push the boundaries of human-level androids to create a revolution in human life the release date for Protolone is still not announced.
