When Jennifer Davis and her husband commenced on this journey, it was all green screen, and they laid out software using graph paper. They saw the transition from mainframe to desktop to web server systems, as well as the introduction of the graphical user interface (GUI). They have witnessed the successful transition from a dream to a successful reality in outsourcing. The internet didn’t even exist for nearly the first ten years since the company incorproated.
These were all huge, but to be honest, she thinks that AI creates a world that will be even more revolutionary than all of them. New business owners are losing knowledge at an unprecedented rate. The other area that Jennifer sees impacted is the use of 3D printing in the field, where service vehicles will no longer need to be outfitted with expensive and hard-to-manage inventory. Alternatively, a subset of their inventory can be printed in the field, increasing first-time fix rates and simplifying operations.
